GOP bill would let sexual abuse survivors break NDAs to speak freely

House Republicans leading the Jeffrey Epstein investigation introduced a bill to void nondisclosure agreements that prevent sexual abuse survivors from speaking about their experiences. The proposal aims to protect victims and hold abusers accountable. Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer said the bill, called the Survivor's Voice Protection Act, would apply to existing agreements and make NDA clauses unenforceable if they block information about sexual abuse. It also defines grooming in federal law for the first time and requires reporting grooming of a minor to law enforcement. The bill follows a standoff with billionaire investor Leon Black, who refused to appear before the committee and sued to block testimony and NDAs. The committee voted unanimously Tuesday to hold Black in contempt of Congress.
