Google to power data centers with nuclear energy

Google will source power from a new nuclear reactor in Tennessee starting in 2030. The partnership with Tennessee Valley Authority involves a 50 MW modular reactor, with plans to expand to 500 MW. This marks the first US power purchase agreement for advanced nuclear technology. The project utilizes Kairos Power's Hermes 2 reactor, a small modular design using molten salt coolant, aiming to provide clean energy for Google's data centers.
