Google tests built-in photo editing for Android Photo Picker

androidauthority.com

Google is developing a built-in media editor for Android's Photo Picker, which could let users edit photos without switching apps. Code in Android 17 QPR2 Beta 2 shows an "EditFeature" class designed as a pop-up dialog for simple edits like cropping and marking, removing the need to exit and edit elsewhere. The Photo Picker is a Project Mainline module updated via Play System Updates, so the feature could roll out independently of a full OS update. It is not yet active.
