Google Maps lacks co-driving mode for real-time location tracking during group trips
Google Maps currently lacks a co-driving mode, which would allow multiple drivers heading to the same destination to track each other's locations in real time. This feature would enhance coordination during group trips, making it easier to plan stops and respond to emergencies. Currently, users can share their trip progress, but they cannot simultaneously track others on the same route within the app. Instead, they rely on third-party apps for live location sharing, which can be inconvenient for drivers. A proposed co-driving mode would let users create a "co-driving group" in Google Maps, displaying each vehicle's location on the map. This addition would improve navigation for group travel and address challenges faced during road trips.
