Google leaves Zurich offices vacant

Google is paying rent for two vacant office spaces in Zurich, Switzerland, despite having no immediate plans to occupy them. The tech giant has left a newly renovated 4,000-square-meter office at General-Guisan-Quai and 15,500 square meters at Müllerstrasse empty since 2022 and 2023 respectively. Google will focus on its main Zurich locations. This situation occurs while office space is scarce in Switzerland, with only 4.3% vacant, though this figure has been increasing for six consecutive quarters.
