Google keeps reviewed Gemini chats for three years

notebookcheck.net

Google began removing Assistant from Android phones on Sept. 4, with Gemini taking over, and its Keep Activity setting is on by default for adults, meaning chats are stored and some are shared with human reviewers. Google retains reviewed chats for up to three years, even after users delete their activity, as stated in its Gemini Apps Privacy Hub. This retention covers related data like language, device type, and feedback, though audio and video are excluded by default. Users can adjust deletion periods from 3 to 36 months or turn off Keep Activity, but reviewed copies remain inaccessible. Up to 90 days of Assistant history may be imported into Gemini in some regions.
