Google data center in Andhra Pradesh draws protests over water and wildlife

Google's $15 billion data center in water-stressed Andhra Pradesh, India, faces legal challenges and protests over water consumption and threats to a wildlife sanctuary. Activists say Visakhapatnam already faces shortages, receiving 410 million liters daily against 480 million required. The project, built by Gautam Adani's group, also threatens the nearby Kambalakonda Wildlife Sanctuary. Google says it will use air-cooling to protect water resources.
