Dr. Vikas Jain, a surgeon in Gondia, removed a record 1.67kg bladder stone from a 52-year-old woman. This surgery surpasses the previous Indian record of 1.4kg set in 2017. The patient had suffered for years before seeking treatment. The stone, nearly 15cm in diameter, was discovered after an X-ray revealed its size. Dr. Jain performed the surgery on January 29, and the patient is recovering well, expected to be discharged on February 5. Dr. Jain plans to submit this achievement to the Limca Book of Records. He noted that while ultrasound is common, the stone was initially missed by local doctors.
