An engine on a Gol Airlines plane exploded during takeoff at Goiânia Airport on Wednesday, causing the flight to be canceled. The aircraft was scheduled to fly from Goiás' capital to Brasília. The incident closed the main runway at Santa Genoveva International Airport for about 1.5 hours, from 6:40 p.m. to 8:17 p.m. Four incoming flights were redirected to Brasília during the closure. Gol confirmed technical problems in one engine on flight G3 1747, stating all passengers disembarked safely. The airline said affected customers received assistance per ANAC resolution 400 and were rebooked on subsequent flights.
