Goa chief minister's email hacked and restored after eight hours

Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant's personal email account was hacked on November 19 and remained compromised for about eight hours. The account was restored the following morning. The cyber cell of the Goa Police is investigating the incident. Initial findings indicate that there was no misuse of the account. This incident marks the first known case of a politician's email being hacked in Goa, following previous attacks on social media accounts. In 2022, a ransomware attack targeted the state's flood monitoring system.
