Glenview figure skater Alexa Gasparotto recently competed at the U.S. Figure Skating Championships in Wichita, where she placed in both the Women’s Free Skate and Short Program. This was her first public performance since the event. Tragically, shortly after the championships, a plane crash near Washington, D.C. killed 28 members of the figure skating community, including skaters and coaches. They were returning from a National Development Camp. Gasparotto dedicated her performance to those lost in the crash. The Glenview Community Ice Center is providing support for grieving skaters and coaches, while also celebrating Gasparotto's achievements in the sport.
