Glencoe Village Hall begins renovations to improve public safety facilities and council chambers
Glencoe's Village Hall is undergoing renovations, starting with the public safety department's dormitory and locker room, which have not been updated since 1956. The council chambers, last upgraded in 1992, will also receive improvements. The Village Board approved a construction contract of up to $1.62 million. Additional costs for new furniture are still being determined. The first phase aims to create better living conditions for public safety staff, with completion expected by April 2025. The second phase will enhance the council chambers' audio and visual technology, with a target completion date of June 2025. During renovations, village meetings are being held at the Park District's Takiff Center without additional fees.
