Glasgow residents to hear routine siren test at gas works

Glasgow residents will hear sirens today as a routine test is conducted at a local gas works site. The alarm is scheduled to sound for one hour starting at 10 am. The test at SGN's Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) site on Blochairn Road will activate both warning and all-clear sirens multiple times. This is to ensure the community is familiar with the sounds and emergency procedures. SGN conducts these safety tests every six months as required by regulations. The company emphasizes that this is a routine exercise and not a cause for concern.
