Gladstone Institutes launches center for phage therapy development

Gladstone Institutes received a $2 million grant to establish a new center focused on developing phage-based therapies for antibiotic-resistant infections. The Center for PhAIge Therapy will use engineering and artificial intelligence to create more effective and predictable phage treatments, addressing a critical need as antibiotic resistance grows. This initiative is part of a national effort to advance phage therapy, aiming to overcome challenges in using phages as reliable treatments against dangerous superbugs like ESKAPE pathogens.
