Gilas Pilipinas to field 11 players at Asian Games if Brownlee remains unavailable

The Philippine men's national basketball team, Gilas Pilipinas, will likely compete with only 11 players at the Asian Games in Japan if Justin Brownlee is not cleared to return. Coach Tim Cone confirmed no replacement will be named for the naturalized player. Brownlee is still awaiting medical clearance from doctors in the United States, with the roster spot kept open for him. He has not played since the third window of the Fiba World Cup Asian Qualifiers last month due to multiple injuries. The team is currently in Suwon, South Korea, for exhibition games with only 11 players. Cone believes the reduced roster is not a disadvantage, citing easier rotation management and players' willingness to take on extended minutes.
