Ghaziabad traffic police have implemented route diversions for light vehicles from Wednesday morning at 8 am due to the increasing crowd of pilgrims during the Kanwar Yatra. The new traffic arrangements will remain in effect until August 12. Previously restricted to heavy vehicles, the diversion now also applies to light goods vehicles, passenger vehicles, auto-rickshaws, and buses. All vehicle movement is completely banned on Ganganhar Patri and pipeline routes, while light vehicles will be barred from the Delhi-Meerut Expressway starting August 7 at 8 am. Alternative routes have been designated, including using the Dasna cut instead of Duhai for vehicles from the Eastern Peripheral Expressway. Buses from Seemapuri border and Tulsi Niketan are prohibited from entering the city, and a green corridor has been established for ambulances and fire brigade vehicles.
