Ghada Wali ordered to pay 2 million Egyptian pounds to Russian artist for metro station art theft

Cairo Economic Court ordered Ghada Wali to pay 2 million Egyptian pounds in compensation to Russian artist Georgy Krasov for intellectual property infringement. The ruling stems from Wali's unauthorized use of Krasov's artwork in metro station designs. Krasov had initially sought 150 million pounds in damages. This civil case follows a prior ruling where Wali was fined 10,000 pounds and convicted of intellectual property theft, a verdict upheld by the Court of Cassation.
