Gestational diabetes increases mothers' risk of cognitive decline and children's risk of ADHD and autism

Gestational diabetes is linked to lower cognitive function in mothers and increased risks of ADHD and autism in children. A large international study found mothers with GDM scored lower on cognitive tests, and their children had reduced IQ and higher risks of developmental delays, ADHD, and autism.
