Germany probes drone flights over base where Patriots are repaired

German security authorities are investigating six suspected drone flights over a secret Bundeswehr base in Meckernich where Patriot air defense systems are repaired. Six drone flights were recorded overnight last Friday from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. at the base, which houses Patriot maintenance facilities. Officials suspect the drone was a Fly-380 VTOL model with a range of up to 400 kilometers. Police are investigating possible unauthorized surveillance. The Bundeswehr's military counterintelligence and Berlin's Joint Drone Defense Center are involved. Separately, on August 5, a drone with explosives was found near a Ukrainian Antonov aircraft; US intelligence links it to Russia.
