He said foreign powers sought to destabilize Germany through espionage, sabotage, cyberattacks, or covert operations. The drone discovery last Tuesday prompted some lawmakers to blame Russia, which the Russian embassy dismissed as a "fabricated provocation." Germany's military reported two drones over a base in Mechernich late Thursday. Dobrindt called the airport incident a "hybrid attack scenario" and backed expanding drone research to counter such threats.
