Germany will accept released Belarusian opposition figures Maria Kalesnikava and Viktor Babariko. This follows the release of 123 prisoners, including prominent opposition leaders, by Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko under US pressure. Kalesnikava and Babariko are considered key figures in Belarus's democracy movement. The German government aims to support the democracy movement from abroad. Kalesnikava and Babariko were among those freed on Saturday, with most initially going to Ukraine.
