German Firms Get Millions Back in US Tariff Refunds

t-online.de (German)

German companies received 790 million euros back from the US for tariffs declared illegal by the Supreme Court. The Trump administration was forced to refund the duties. The tariffs were imposed weeks after Trump took office in 2025, citing a 1977 emergency law. The Supreme Court overturned this decision in February 2026, prompting refunds to affected firms. DHL received the largest refund at 416 million euros, followed by Siemens Healthineers with 200 million euros. Puma, Sartorius, Dräger, and others also benefited, while Adidas and Merck await payments.
