George W. Cook, longtime Libertyville resident and packaging engineer, dies at 81

George W. Cook, a resident of Libertyville, passed away on November 25, 2024, at the age of 81. He was born on May 29, 1943, in Kansas City, Missouri, and graduated from Luther North High School. He later studied Industrial Design at the University of Illinois. Cook had a long career as a Packaging Engineer, retiring in 2008 after 25 years with Littelfuse. He was married to Mary Cook for 60 years and is survived by his wife, son Edward, and grandchildren. A gathering for family and friends will be held on December 22 from 2:00 to 6:00 PM at McMurrough Funeral Chapel in Libertyville. Donations in his memory can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
