George Strait honors wife Norma as he receives Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award at 2024 CMAs
George Strait received the Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2024 CMA Awards on November 20 in Nashville. During his acceptance speech, he thanked his wife, Norma, for nearly 53 years of support, along with family and friends. Strait acknowledged the tribute performances by fellow artists before he performed "Honky Tonk Hall of Fame." He expressed gratitude to his fans, his record label, and late friends and colleagues who contributed to his career. Strait, known as the "King of Country," has had a successful career with over 30 platinum albums and 60 No. 1 singles. He recently set a record for the largest ticketed concert in U.S. history, with over 110,000 attendees.
