Generative AI transforms software testing as organizations embrace automation

Generative AI is increasingly being integrated into software testing, with 68% of organizations using it to improve quality efforts. While 29% have fully adopted it in test automation, many still face challenges like data security concerns and outdated systems. The adoption of AI tools has shifted from experimentation to real implementation, with a growing recognition of the need for quality engineers to work independently of Agile teams. However, over half of tech executives still view quality engineering as a non-strategic activity. Despite progress in upskilling teams, many organizations struggle with comprehensive test strategies. The study highlights that AI is expected to enhance testing effectiveness, as software quality engineering evolves to include AI-generated code and new testing requirements.
