Gen Z trades weekend fun for financial security
Nearly half of Gen Z adults are willing to risk career changes or start businesses to achieve greater happiness, according to a Northwestern Mutual study. This boldness extends to investing, with 15 percent adopting new financial trends early. Despite this risk tolerance, 41 percent of Gen Z view themselves as cautious strategists balancing bold moves with financial discipline. To manage inflation, 62 percent skip weekend social plans, and 78 percent prioritize financial responsibility in romantic partners. Experts attribute Gen Z's balanced approach to a desire for holistic well-being, prioritizing personal relationships and fulfillment alongside wealth generation. This strategy reflects a generation navigating economic pressures while seeking meaningful life outcomes.
