GEF launches Kotha Cheruvu lake restoration project in Hyderabad

Gemini Edible & Fats India Limited has launched a project to restore Kotha Cheruvu lake in Kokapet, Hyderabad. The company is investing ₹1.2 crore in partnership with the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority and Dhruvansh NGO as part of its corporate social responsibility. The lake has faced pollution and declining water quality due to urbanization and sewage inflow. The restoration aims to clean the lake, enhance water quality, and protect local biodiversity using sustainable methods. Officials from various organizations attended the project's inauguration.
