Garimella Balakrishna Prasad honored at funeral in Tirupati

Garimella Balakrishna Prasad, a renowned classical composer and singer, passed away on March 9, 2025. His funeral took place on March 11, 2025, with State honours, including a police salute and a tricolour draping. Prasad served the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams from 1978 to 2006, composing music for nearly 1,000 works of saint-poet Tallapaka Annamacharya. He aimed to make Annamacharya's literature accessible to a wider audience through music.
