Garbage truck killed dog; worker threw body in compactor

A dog named Agatha was fatally struck by a garbage truck in Ponta Grossa, Paraná, and her body was subsequently thrown into the compactor. The city has requested the sanitation workers involved be removed from duty. Surveillance footage captured the incident, showing Agatha, who had escaped from her home, being hit and then handled by a sanitation worker. The company stated the worker believed the dog was a stray. The dog's family, who had owned Agatha for five years, only learned of the incident through the video. Police are investigating the case, and the sanitation company has expressed regret and stated their protocols were not followed.
