Gamer upgrades to RTX 4080 Super and ultrawide monitor for enhanced Resident Evil 4 experience
A gamer upgraded from an RTX 3080 Ti to an RTX 4080 Super and an Asus 49-inch OLED ultrawide monitor. This new setup significantly improved performance, allowing for higher frame rates and better graphics in demanding games like the Resident Evil 4 remake. The RTX 4080 Super maintained over 99 frames per second at 5120x1440 resolution with high settings and ray tracing. In contrast, the 3080 Ti struggled, with frame rates fluctuating between 60 and 100 fps. The new GPU also supports DLSS 3, enhancing performance further. The Asus PG49WCD monitor provided deep blacks and an immersive 32:9 aspect ratio. However, it is expensive and some games lack support for this format. The monitor's pixel refresh feature can be annoying, but overall, the upgrade was deemed worthwhile for enhanced gaming experiences.
