Fugitive snowboarder accused of ordering parents' murders
Jaspreet Kaur Sidhu is a survivor of a tragic shooting that killed her parents, Jagtar and Harbhajan Sidhu, in their home near Brampton, Ontario, on November 20, 2023. The FBI claims that a fugitive drug lord, Ryan Wedding, ordered the hits as part of a mistaken identity within the world of drug trafficking. On the morning before the shooting, Jaspreet's father had a serious conversation with her, emphasizing his love. Later, while she was preparing for bed, a masked gunman entered their home and shot her parents. Jaspreet was also shot 13 times but managed to call for help despite her injuries. Her father died at the scene, while her mother passed away days later. The investigation revealed that the Sidhus were wrongfully targeted as part of a larger drug smuggling operation linked to Mexico’s Sinaloa cartel. The shooter is still at large, and the FBI is investigating the case as part of an international drug conspiracy. Wedding, a former Olympic snowboarder, remains a fugitive, and authorities believe he is connected to other violent crimes in Ontario. Jaspreet is recovering from her injuries and reflects on her parents' teachings, hoping to bring justice for other victims. She firmly believes that Wedding will eventually face consequences for his actions. Despite her trauma, she is determined to honor her parents' legacy and help others.
