FTX executives receive reduced prison sentences for fraud convictions

Ryan Salame and Caroline Ellison, former FTX executives, have received reduced prison sentences following their convictions for fraud. Salame's release date is now set for March 1, 2031, over a year earlier than initially planned. Ellison, who was sentenced to two years, will be released on July 20, 2025, three months sooner than expected. Both pleaded guilty and cooperated with authorities against Sam Bankman-Fried, who received a 25-year sentence. The Federal Bureau of Prisons allows inmates to earn good conduct time, which can shorten their sentences. FTX, once a leading cryptocurrency exchange, collapsed in November 2022 amid fraud allegations.
