Fredericton lawyer found guilty of professional misconduct

Fredericton lawyer Stephen James Hill has been found guilty of professional misconduct by the Law Society of New Brunswick. The decision follows numerous complaints, including failure to complete work, disregard for client instructions, and misappropriation of funds. A sanctions hearing is scheduled for July. Hill was suspended from practice in February 2025. The Law Society's compensation fund has already paid out $1.2 million to his complainants.
