Fraudsters stole ₹2.15L from Pune ATM users

Three individuals in Pune lost a total of Rs 2.15 lakh after calling a fake helpline number posted at ATMs, leading to fraudulent withdrawals from their accounts. The victims, including two women and a man, encountered issues with their ATM cards at kiosks in Dhayari and Rahatani last month. They contacted the displayed helpline, and were tricked into revealing their PINs, resulting in unauthorized transactions. Police are investigating the incidents, suspecting the criminals tampered with the machines to display the fraudulent numbers and steal card information.
