France will permanently allow meal vouchers in supermarkets

The use of meal vouchers in supermarkets for non-immediately consumable products will be permanently allowed starting January 1, 2027, following a government announcement. The Minister of Commerce and SMEs, Véronique Louwagie, confirmed the permanent allowance and the dematerialization of meal vouchers. This decision comes after the initial extension of the program in January, which was set to expire at the end of 2026. The government is also considering a dual spending limit, with a higher cap for restaurants.
