A new study shows that just four minutes of vigorous incidental activity each day can significantly reduce the risk of heart disease in middle-aged women. This type of exercise, called Vilpa, includes short bursts of activity integrated into daily routines. The research, published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine, found that even brief periods of high-intensity activity, lasting up to one minute, can improve cardiovascular health. This is beneficial for those who do not engage in structured exercise. The World Health Organization recommends adults get at least 150 minutes of moderate exercise weekly. However, this study highlights that even minimal daily activity can have a positive impact on heart health.
