Four arrested for vandalizing Hindu temple and homes in Bangladesh

Four people were arrested in Sunamganj district, Bangladesh, for vandalizing a Hindu temple and damaging homes and shops. Police have filed a case against 12 named individuals and 150-170 unidentified suspects following violence triggered by a controversial Facebook post. The unrest began on December 3 after a local resident's post led to tensions and attacks on the Loknath Temple and the Hindu community. Police and military intervened to restore order, and investigations are ongoing to identify all involved. Since the political changes in August, there has been a rise in violence against minorities in Bangladesh, particularly Hindus. Authorities have reported 88 incidents of communal violence, with 70 arrests made in connection to these events.
