Former Nurse Returns to Devon Hospital with Dementia Art and Piano After £3.9m Lottery Win
Former nurse Lucy Waring, who won a £3.9 million (approximately KSh 683 million) Lotto jackpot with her husband Jon in 2025, returned to Torbay Hospital's dementia unit with gifts, including artwork and a piano. Waring spent the final years of her 27-year nursing career at the Devon hospital before the win prompted the couple to leave their jobs. They donated dementia-specific artwork and a piano, with volunteers now playing music for patients and staff. The couple, who shared £430,000 with family and friends and invested £1.5 million, were accompanied by seven other lottery winners. They have since upgraded from a two-bedroom bungalow to a seven-bedroom estate with a pool and tennis court.
