Former K-pop idol Ahn Ye Song sentenced to eight years for fatal DUI accident
Ahn Ye Song, a former K-pop idol and DJ known as Yesong, has been sentenced to eight years in prison for driving under the influence and causing the death of a delivery worker. The Supreme Court upheld the sentence on December 10. Initially sentenced to ten years, her term was reduced after she expressed remorse and settled with the victim's family. The prosecution had sought a 15-year sentence, citing her lack of genuine regret. The fatal accident occurred in February when Yesong, with a blood alcohol level of 0.221%, struck a motorcyclist in Gangnam, Seoul. She had previously attempted to flee the scene.
