Foreign visitors attend Tunisia's Jewish pilgrimage on Djerba island under security

Foreign visitors returned to Tunisia's annual Jewish pilgrimage under heavy security following a deadly attack last year. Around 500 people attended the Lag B'Omer holiday celebration at the El-Ghriba Synagogue on Djerba island, with visitors from France, China, Ivory Coast, and Italy. The pilgrimage, central to Tunisia's Jewish community, aims to restore its former glory and symbolize coexistence, despite past attacks in 2023 and 2002.
