Florida launches Strong Florida Moms pregnancy website to support families
The DeSantis administration launched a new pregnancy website called Strong Florida Moms, aimed at providing support for families. The site was created after the passage of HB 415, which allocated $466,200 for its development. The website offers information on pregnancy, health care, and parenting but does not include details on accessing Medicaid, which covered over 42% of births in Florida in 2023. It also missed its initial launch deadline of January 1. In addition to resources for mothers, the site features the Father’s First Initiative, which encourages fathers to engage in their children's lives. The initiative includes a 30-day challenge for dads to improve their parenting skills.
