Florida bail bondsman arrested for allegedly trading bail for sex

A Florida bail bondsman, Russell Bruce Moncrief, 75, was arrested for allegedly offering bail to women in exchange for sex. He faces charges of human trafficking and racketeering, targeting women in jail, particularly those arrested for prostitution or drug offenses. Moncrief reportedly threatened to revoke bonds to maintain control over the women. He is accused of facilitating sexual exchanges for bail and selling women he bonded out to others. A three-year investigation identified at least 26 potential victims. This arrest follows similar allegations against a local defense attorney last year. Moncrief denies the charges and is scheduled to appear in court on November 8. If convicted, he could face up to 125 years in prison.
