Florentine trumpeter Baggiani releases "Hansei," a jazz album exploring Japanese self-reflection

lanazione.it (Italian) —

Florentine trumpeter Franco Baggiani releases "Hansei," a new improvised jazz album created with Spanish pianist and sound designer Joan de Ribera, exploring the Japanese concept of self-reflection. The album, their second collaboration following 2023's "Mut Natura," features fully improvised music aimed at a broad audience beyond jazz fans, including world music listeners. Baggiani describes himself as the pure creative force while de Ribera handles sound organization and mixing. A third album is in progress from a live recording, alongside projects including a Miles Davis tribute and a flamenco-jazz fusion record. Baggiani will perform monthly in Florence starting this October and presents "Togetherness" at Teatro Comunale di Rignano in February.
