Five-year-old boy regains ability to eat and speak after jaw surgery

A five-year-old boy underwent successful multistage jaw surgery at KMC Hospital Mangaluru, restoring his ability to open his mouth after suffering from Temporo-Mandibular Joint Ankylosis since infancy. The condition had prevented him from eating solid food, speaking clearly, and caused facial deformity and social stigma. The surgery involved external distraction to lengthen his jaw over several months.
