Five airlines emerge as largest operators of Embraer E-Jet E2 aircraft
The Embraer E-Jet E2 family, launched in 2013, has seen limited success due to design issues and production delays. Despite this, five airlines have emerged as the largest operators of the aircraft, showcasing its capabilities. Porter Airlines leads with 42 E195-E2 jets, focusing on expanding its network to leisure destinations. Azul Brazilian Airlines follows with 21 E195-E2 aircraft, aiming to connect underserved routes in Brazil. KLM Cityhopper operates 20 E195-E2 jets, featuring a business-class cabin. Helvetic Airways and Binter Canarias each operate 12 E-Jet E2 aircraft. Helvetic uses them for European and Northern African routes, while Binter serves destinations from the Canary Islands. Both airlines have additional orders to support their growth.
