An investigation by French newspaper Le Monde revealed that the movements of world leaders, including U.S. President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump, can be tracked through a fitness app used by their bodyguards. The U.S. Secret Service stated it does not believe this compromises security. Le Monde found that U.S. Secret Service agents and security personnel for leaders like French President Emmanuel Macron and Russian President Vladimir Putin have public profiles on the Strava app. This allows their activities to be monitored, potentially exposing sensitive information. In response, the U.S. Secret Service reiterated that agents are not allowed to use personal devices while on duty. Macron's office downplayed the risks, stating that security measures are in place for the president's movements.
