Fishing boat hits breakwater; eleven hospitalized

A fishing boat collided with a breakwater off Hamada Port, resulting in eleven crew members being transported to the hospital. The incident occurred around 12:30 AM on August 20th. The vessel, the "Dai-28 Hamakichi Maru," struck the Shinsei breakwater approximately one kilometer offshore while returning to Hamada Port after fishing in Kyushu. All eleven crew members were conscious and did not suffer life-threatening injuries. The Japan Coast Guard is investigating the cause of the collision, which caused damage to the boat's bow below the waterline.
