First swine flu case reported in Rajasthan this year
A 54-year-old woman in Jaipur tested positive for swine flu on February 2, marking the first case in Rajasthan this year. Health officials have taken preventive measures in her area and collected samples from her family. In January, health authorities issued an alert and directed hospitals to prepare for swine flu and influenza cases. This includes establishing dedicated outpatient and inpatient facilities. Rajasthan reported 921 swine flu cases from January to March 2024, with a rise in cases during the winter months. Health officials are remaining vigilant due to the prevalence of respiratory illnesses.
