First convictions for New Year's Eve violence in Den Bosch result in jail sentences

Two men received jail sentences and fines in Den Bosch for New Year's Eve offenses, marking the first convictions from the holiday. One man was convicted of hitting a police officer and received a conditional jail sentence and a fine. The other was sentenced to four months in jail, partly conditional, for throwing fireworks at enforcement officers. Overall, 528 emergency responders were victims of aggression and violence during the New Year's Eve period, a significant increase from the previous year.
