Firefighters battle Troy Church of Christ fire after roof collapse

A large fire broke out early Thursday at Troy Church of Christ, forcing firefighters to battle it from outside after the roof partially collapsed. Crews responded around 3:15 a.m. on Trombley Road. The building was unoccupied. Firefighters shifted to a defensive attack after the collapse, which Lt. Keith Young said was difficult but necessary. No injuries were reported. The cause remains under investigation. The church had been vacant at the time, and officials prioritized containing the blaze safely.
